El molde tiene más años que la polca porque viene de Matchbox. Lo único de Revell son las calcas y las intrucciones. Sólo hay dos maneras de hacer este elegante hidro: de caja o remangándose. La segunda llevará más tiempo, y acaso mejores resultados; con la primera forma la despacharemos antes para luego excusar el petardo arteramente asegurando que nos gusta hacer las maquetas a la antigua por aquello de la nostalgia y blablabla. Como tercera vía podemos seguir esperando a que alguna marca le eche el ojo al Do 18, y así llevamos un cuarto de siglo.♦
The mold is as old as the hills, as it comes from Matchbox, with Revell providing only the decals and instructions. There are really just two ways to approach this elegant seaplane: build it straight out of the box, or roll up your sleeves and put in some real work. The latter will take longer, but likely yield better results; the former gets the job done quick, and then you can cleverly excuse the lackluster end product by claiming you prefer building kits «the old-fashioned way» for the sake of nostalgia, blah, blah, blah. Alternatively, you could just keep waiting for some other manufacturer to take an interest in the Do 18, though we’ve already been waiting a quarter of a century for that.♦
