CALCAS – DECALS:

Chinese roundels, instrument panel, aircraft number, unit badges, shark mouth and several stencils. Well printed with glossy finish and not too much carrier film.

VALORACIÓN – CONCLUSION:

Apta para cualquier modelista, con variadas opciones de montaje y un precio normalmente asequible.

No es bueno volver dos veces sobre el mismo tema, pero me voy a tomar la licencia por una vez, y puede que sirva de precedente incluso. Esta maqueta es casi idéntica al Curtiss P-40B Warhawk (referencia A01003B) cuya revisión ya apareció publicada en estas páginas hace más de un año. La única diferencia está en las calcas y un mínimo detalle en el color de la primera página de las instrucciones.

Esta caja salió en el año 2011 como primera de las que luego Airfix ha ido editando de este avión hasta hoy. La maqueta representa el primer modelo del conocido P-40, denominado inicialmente Hawk 81, en su popular versión del American Volunteer Group, que muchos otros fabricantes también tienen en sus catálogos, como Academy o Trumpeter en esta escala pequeña.

Ya que no aburriré al lector diciendo lo mismo dos veces, me ha parecido que esta página debería aportar al menos fotos del Hawk 81 por mucho que sea igual que el P-40B. Como puede comprobarse, ni siquiera mejoran las de la primera revisión, pero ahí quedan en todo caso.◊

It’s no use saying things on the same subject twice, but I am going to disobey the rule for once, and maybe this could not even be the last time. This kit is almost identical to the Curtiss P-40B Warhawk (reference A01003B). A review of that kit was already published on these pages more than a year ago. The only difference is in the decals and a minimal detail in the color on the first page of the instruction brochure.

This box dates back from 2011 and was the first of the new tool Airfix has been reboxing so far. The kit represents the first model of the well-known P-40, initially called Hawk 81, in the popular version of the American Volunteer Group, which many other manufacturers also have in their catalogues, such as Academy or Trumpeter, at this small scale.

Since I won’t bore the reader by saying the same things twice, it seemed to me that this page should at least provide photos of the Hawk 81 even though it is very much the same as the P-40B. As can be seen, pictures are no better than those published in the first review, but there they are anyway.◊
