- Hoja fotocopiada de tamaño A5. Contiene una breve historia del avión, tabla de pinturas de Humbrol, siete partes de montaje y una guía para arriostrar el modelo. Ambas caras de la caja muestran perfiles a color. No muy claras por falta de contraste en la copia.
- Photocopied A5 sheet. Contains a brief history of the aircraft, a table of Humbrol enamels, seven assembly sections and a rigging scheme. Both sides of the box show profiles in colour. Not very clear due to the lack of contrast in the copy.
LO MEJOR – THE BEST:

VALORACIÓN – CONCLUSION:
- Sencilla de montar para una edición limitada. Ideal para iniciarse con este tipo de maquetas.

AZ Model ha sacado dos cajas de este raro Saiman 200 hasta el momento. El molde original es de Jach, al que AZ Model ha cambiado las instrucciones (empeorándolas) y los parabrisas de plástico transparente por piezas de acetato. Esta segunda caja contiene cuatro pequeños bastidores, una hoja de acetato, las calcas y las instrucciones.
Las piezas están limpias de restos de plástico y no hay marcas visibles. Así mismo, presentan buen moldeado y finura. Las líneas de panel son escasas, finas y están bien grabadas. El material tiene cierta rigidez, pero debido a su finura no resultará difícil trabajarlo. El despiece es sencillo y común. El fuselaje viene en mitades, las alas en tres planos, timón y deriva de una pieza y lo mismo en los estabilizadores.
Las mitades del fuselaje son finas y se han fabricado sin la cola. El lado izquierdo lleva incluidos el tubo Venturi y la rueda de cola. El detalle exterior es en general correcto, sólo se echan en falta unas pequeñas rejillas laterales de ventilación del motor en el lado izquierdo, que bien pueden ser omisibles a la escala. Las líneas de panel son finas en la parte delantera y las superficies completamente lisas en a trasera, detalle que no nos debe extrañar y que puede apreciarse en fotos del avión real, que estaba fabricado de contrachapado. Las tomas de aire sobre el motor están bien simuladas y no vienen abiertas. La posición de los escapes está marcada en el lado derecho y hay que fabricarlos. Según las instrucciones, deben hacerse con plástico estirado de 1 mm. de longitud, excepto el primero de ellos, que tiene 2 mm. Las fotos parecen indicar que este detalle es correcto.
El frontal del morro es de una pieza y muestra las aberturas de ventilación. La hélice es fina, de una pieza, pero las palas son demasiado planas y carecen de la adecuada torsión comparadas con las originales. A diferencia de la maqueta de Jach, AZ Model ha incluido dos parabrisas de acetato que suponen acertar a la primera con el corte de la fina hoja.
El interior del fuselaje contiene parte de la estructura interna representada mediante líneas en relieve más un par de controles en lados opuestos en cada carlinga. Para el puesto trasero este instrumento no es correcto. La base de los asientos está bien conseguida, así como la base de las palancas. Hay también dos asientos, dos palancas y dos paneles de instrumentos con indicadores bien grabados y sin calca.
El empenaje viene por separado en dos piezas finas bien trazadas en los elevadores y el timón. También aquí se repiten las extrañas (y correctas) superficies planas, aunque el entelado de las superficies de control podría haber sido más irregular y realista. Los estabilizadores van pegados directamente sobre la cola, sujetos por la aleta del timón.
Las alas están repartidas en tres piezas con idéntico detalle que el empenaje. Las caras interiores de ambos planos y el fuselaje muestran la posición de los soportes claramente marcada. Los soportes son finos y están bien trabajados, con secciones ovaladas. En apariencia no resultará difícil montar las alas sobre los soportes. Los planos inferiores se han fabricado con pequeños vástagos, pero son muy cortos para asegurar bien la unión.
El tren de aterrizaje está bien copiado excepto las ruedas. Las patas y los amortiguadores tienen buen perfil y grosor adecuado. Sin embargo, las ruedas son simplonas y no tienen detalle en los tapacubos, especialmente por el exterior, donde las ruedas originales llevaban un cierto relieve radial.
La hoja de calcas ha sido impresa por Eduard, lo que certifica su calidad. Contiene escarapelas italianas, croatas y yugoslavas, matrículas, insignias de cola y algunos estarcidos. Los colores lucen perfectos y las calcas parecen muy finas y sin exceso de soporte.
Las instrucciones no son las originales de Jach, sino una mala fotocopia a menor tamaño realizada por AZ Model sin el suficiente contraste. Incluyen una breve referencia histórica, una tabla de colores esmaltes de Humbrol, siete partes de montaje algo pequeñas y una breve guía para colocar los tensores. Como ya es costumbre, ambos lados de la caja muestran perfiles a color para pintar y colocar las calcas. En general, las versiones son menos atractivas que las de la primera caja de AZ, destacando sólo el avión croata de la portada.
En resumen, esta es una maqueta que no ha sido muy beneficiada con el cambio de fabricante, salvo en la magnífica hoja de calcas. Aparentemente debe ser sencilla de montar y está en general bien detallada, por ello me parece ideal para quienes pretendan iniciarse en este tipo de maquetas de tirada corta. La rareza del avión también puede atraer a los que quieran alejarse, aunque sólo sea por una vez, de otros aviones más comunes.◊
AZ Models has released two boxes of this little-known Saiman 200 so far. The original tooling belongs to Jach and AZ Models has only copied the instructions (worsening them) and replaced the windshield by acetate parts. This second box includes four small sprues, an acetate sheet, the decals and the instructions.
Parts are clean from plastic and the are no visible marks. Also, they are correctly molded and thin. Panel lines are scarce but thin and finely engraved. Plastic is a bit on the stiff side but being thin I think it will be easy to work with. Parts breakup is simple and standard. The fuselage comes in halves, the wings in three pieces and the tail and stabilizers in one piece each.
Fuselage halves are thin and have been molded without the tail. The port side also includes the Venturi tube and the tail wheel. External detail is overall correct, I only miss a couple of very small air vents on the left half that could be omitted at the scale without a fuss. Surfaces show thin panel lines at the front and completely flat at the back. This is not incorrect as pics of the aircraft show these same plain surfaces, which were made of plywood. Air intakes on the engine cowling are correctly rendered but they are not opened. Under the nose, the position of the exhausts is clearly marked but the modeller will have to build them from plastic. According to the instructions, they are 1 mm. long, except the front one, which is 2 mm. This seems correct according to pictures of the real aircraft.
The nose front is a separate piece detailed with air intakes. The one-piece propeller is thin, but the blades are too flat and do not have the appropriate twisted shape compared with the real ones. Unlike the Jach kit, AZ Model has included two acetate windshield instead of a clear part, which means that you have to be quite accurate when cutting the pieces out of the sheet.
The cockpit walls show part of the internal structure with raised lines plus a couple of gadgets on opposite spots, but the one on the rear cockpit is not correct. The raised structure below the seats looks the part and it shows correct openings for both control sticks. There are also two seats, two sticks and two different instrument panels with engraved gadgets without decals.
The empennage comes in two sections, parts are thin and ailerons are correctly delimited by engraved lines on elevators and rudder. Surfaces are again flat, though the tapered control surfaces could have been a bit more uneven to add more realism. The stabilizers are attached directly on the tail, held by the rudder fin.
Wings come in three pieces showing the same detail as in the tail. Bottom faces on both planes and the fuselage have the position of struts clearly marked. Struts are thin and correctly shaped, with oval cross-sections. Apparently, it will not be too difficult to build the upper wings. Lower wings have locating pins but are too short to get a strong join.
The landing gear is nicely copied except for the wheels. Both struts and shock absorbers have nice shapes and they are thin enough. However, the wheels look too simple and have no detail on the hubs, specially evident on the outer faces, where the real wheels had some raised detail.
The decal sheet has been printed by Eduard, which means they should go fine. It shows Italian, Croatian and Yugoslav roundels, numbers, tail codes and some stencils. Colours look nice and decals seem quite thin and have no excess of film.
The instructions are not the original included in the Jach kit, but a smaller photocopied sheet made without much contrast by AZ Model. They include a short historical reference, a table of paints with codes from Humbrol enamels, seven rather small assembly sections and a scheme to rig the model. As usual, both sides of the bx show profiles in colour as a reference for painting and decals. The versions shown are not so attractive as in the previous AZ box, only the Croatian aircraft on the cover being painted differently from the rest.
In short, this is a kit that has not benefited from the change in the manufacturer except for the excellent decal sheet. It is supposedly not too difficult to build and is overall correctly detailed. I think it could be an asset for anyone considering trying his first short-run kit. The uncommon aircraft may also attract those searching for untrodden ways.◊
