LO MEJOR – THE BEST:
- Buenas formas generales. Excelente motor, que puede mostrarse abierto.
- Good general shape. Fine engine and cowling which can be shown open.
LO PEOR – THE WORST:
- Poco detalle interior. Paneles en relieve.
- Poor cockpit details. Raised panels.
VALORACIÓN – CONCLUSION:
- Enésima edición de un molde más que veterano con cambio de calcas y actualización de las instrucciones. Pese a su edad, recomendable.
- Another re-edition of an aging tooling with different decals and upgraded instructions. Despite its age, recommedable.
El molde de esta maqueta es el mismo que la antigua referencia de Hasegawa JS-056, coeditado con la firma Hales para su distribución en Gran Bretaña hace bastantes décadas. En este artículo describiré las características específicas de esta edición. Remito al lector a la revisión de la maqueta indicada ya publicada anteriormente aquí.
Las instrucciones han sido actualizadas en esta edición. Del folleto grande y vertical de la antigua maqueta, Hasegawa emplea en esta un formato más moderno impreso en dos colores, característico de sus maquetas más actuales. Tanto la secuencia de las etapas de montaje como las ilustraciones son prácticamente idénticas, con pequeños cambios.
Dos de los bastidores con las superficies inferiores de las alas, estabilizadores, motor y placa identificativa en uno de ellos, y los flotadores, piezas del capó motor, figuras, antena para el radar aire-superficie Tipo 3 Ku que empleaba el modelo 11B y la mitad del fuselaje en el otro.
Otro bastidor principal, idéntico al antiguo, que contiene la parte superior de las alas, la otra mitad del fuselaje, hélice, figura y piezas del motor. Las piezas transparentes son también iguales (cubierta de una pieza) pero en esta ocasión vienen algo mejor protegidas al estar enmarcadas. Abajo, la hoja de calcas con la fecha de impresión (12/2001) y sólo dos paneles de instrumentos; para el piloto y el operador de radio.◊
The tooling of this kit is the same as the old reference JS-056 which Hasegawa edited with Hales, a firm that sold their Japanese kits in Britain many decades ago. In this article I will describe the distinctive features of this edition. Here is the review I wrote some time ago about the older Hasegawa’s Jake published on this site.
The upgraded instructions for this edition. Discarding the old leaflet, Hasegawa use a more modern format printed in two colours, similar to their newest kits today. Both the assembly steps and the pictures are almost identical, with only a few minor changes.
Two of the sprues including the bottom wing surfaces, stabilizers, engine and nameplate in one of them, and the floats, parts for the engine cowling, two figures, the air-surface Type 3 Ku radar which was used in model 11B and one half of the fuselage in the other.
The last main sprue, identical to the one in the older release, which includes the upper wing surfaces, the second half of the fuselage, propeller, figure and parts for the engine. Clear parts are also the same (one-piece canopy) but this time slightly better protected by a clear frame. Below, the decal sheet with the printing date (2001/12) and only two instrument panels, for pilot and radio operator.◊
